Two Men and a Truck Service in Raleigh, NC

Some moves just don’t need a three-person crew and a bigger bill. Our two-man and a truck service in Raleigh, NC, is built around a lean, well-trained duo and a right-sized box truck, made for one-bedroom apartments in Five Points, a studio downtown in the Warehouse District, or a starter home in Method. DC Movers keeps the crew tight and the truck matched to the job, so you’re not paying for muscle you don’t need. Local moves across Wake County get handled fast, carefully, and on schedule.

WHAT CAN WE DO FOR YOU?

A moving job isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither is our crew. Some households need two sets of hands and a single truck run; others need a third mover, a bigger box truck, or a plan that covers hundreds of miles instead of a few dozen. Below is the full lineup our Raleigh team runs, built so you can match the service to the actual size of the job rather than overpaying for a crew bigger than your apartment actually needs. From a quick two-person load-out near Meredith College to a full long-distance relocation heading out of Wake County, here’s the complete list of what DC Movers puts on the road for you, crew size and all.

Expert Cross State Moving Services for Smooth Transitions

Two-Man and a Truck Service

This is our core crew: two trained movers and one truck built for one-bedroom apartments, small townhomes, and starter homes. It fits a bungalow in Method, a walk-up near Five Points, or a first apartment downtown. Two movers carry a queen mattress, a dresser, and a couch without needing a third set of hands, and the smaller crew usually costs less too.

Three-Man and a Truck Service

When the inventory grows past what two movers can keep pace with, we add a third. Three-bedroom houses, finished basements, or a third-floor walk-up near Crabtree Valley without an elevator move faster with an extra set of hands. The third mover keeps the truck loading while the other two carry, so the job doesn't slow to a crawl on a hot afternoon.

Long-Distance Moving Service

Not every move stays inside Raleigh's city limits. Relocating to Charlotte, Wilmington, or clearing out of state puts the job under FMCSA authority, not just state rules, so it's worth asking any mover for a US DOT number before booking. We plan the loading, drive time, and delivery window together, so arrival day isn't left as a guessing game.

Residential Moving

Most of our calendar is home moves—a young family upsizing out of a Mordecai bungalow, a couple downsizing into North Raleigh, and a first apartment near Meredith College. We box the kitchen last and load it first off, use moving blankets on anything upholstered, and run furniture sliders under dressers so hardwood floors in older homes don't take the damage.

Commercial moving

Small businesses move on a deadline that isn't just about boxes—a salon needs its chairs and mirrors back up before the next appointment, and a taproom needs its kegs handled without a spill. We schedule around your open hours, wrap electronics and reception furniture separately from stock, and can work an evening or Sunday slot so Monday's doors open on time.

Packing & Unpacking services

Packing is where most moving timelines fall apart. We'll pack a full house or just the rooms you'd rather skip, using book boxes for anything heavy so cartons don't split on the truck, and color-coded labels by room so unloading day doesn't turn into a guessing game. Framed art and mirrors get corner guards and are flat-packed, never stacked flat under other boxes.

Instrument moving

Guitars, keyboards, and full drum kits need more than a moving blanket tossed over them. Weighted digital pianos get carried level, never on their side, and stringed instruments travel in hard cases when the owner has one. For a home studio setup—amps, a mixer, monitors—we note what plugs in where first, so reassembly isn't a guessing game.

Flat-Rate Local Moves Service

A flat rate means the number we quote is the number on your invoice, even if an afternoon storm rolls in off Lake Wheeler Road and slows the drive. We walk through your rooms first, count the big pieces, and price the job as a whole rather than by the clock. No add-on charge shows up later for extra boxes you packed the morning of the move.
assembling furniture moving service

Furniture assembly & disassembly

Bed frames, standing desks, and bookshelves rarely survive a move fully assembled without scratches, so we take them apart first. Every screw, bolt, and hex key goes into a labeled bag taped to the matching piece, and cribs, changing tables, and nursery furniture get put back together before we leave, not left in pieces on the nursery floor.

LEARN MORE ABOUT US

Who are we?

DC Movers runs on a simple idea: the crew on your truck should be people who actually work for us, not names pulled from a labor app the morning of your move. We built the two-man and three-man model around real households in Raleigh and the surrounding towns—Garner, Knightdale, Wendell, and Fuquay-Varina—because most moves here don’t need a fleet of trucks, just the right two or three people and a plan. Before your move, we walk through what’s in the home, not just a room count, so the crew that shows up matches the job. If something changes the week of your move, tell us—we’d rather resize the crew than have you waiting on a truck that’s too small.

THE POWER OF OUR SERVICE

Why Choose DC Movers in Raleigh, NC

Two men and a truck sounds simple until the truck shows up short-staffed or the quote changes right at your front door. We built our Raleigh crews to avoid both problems—a properly matched team, a locked-in price, and movers who actually know the difference between a straight hallway in a North Raleigh subdivision and a tight, angled stairwell in a hundred-year-old Boylan Heights house. That kind of local knowledge, more than the truck itself, is usually what separates a smooth Saturday move from a long, expensive day.

Reasons to Trust

We walk the home with you before anything gets loaded and put the inventory and price in writing, so nothing changes once the truck is already full.

Your Best Choice

Job turns out bigger than expected once we’re on-site? We can call in a third mover mid-move instead of leaving you short-handed halfway through.

Right Choice for You

We know which North Raleigh subdivisions require an HOA move-in window and which Five Points streets are too narrow for our full-size truck to enter.

Professional

Crews text an ETA before arrival, use furniture sliders on hardwood, and wear back-support belts—small habits that prevent an injury or a scratched floor.

Top-Rated Two Men and a Truck Moving Company in Raleigh, NC

Raleigh keeps landing on lists of the country’s fastest-growing cities, and a lot of that growth shows up as move-in day somewhere new every week: a grad student settling in near Meredith College, a family relocating for a Research Triangle job and buying their first house in North Raleigh, and a retiree trading a bigger place in Cary for something smaller closer to downtown. DC Movers has handled all of it: two-man crews carrying boxes up a walk-up in the Warehouse District, three-man teams clearing a Mordecai bungalow before closing day, and long-distance loads packed for a family heading to Wilmington. Word travels fast here, and most of our calendar fills from referrals, not ads. That’s the kind of reputation that only builds one careful move at a time. We don’t inflate the crew size to pad an invoice, and that’s usually the first thing people mention when they tell a neighbor to call us next.

On 9/18/2025 I used DLC MOVERS for the first time. The gentleman that came to move me was Cash, Micheal and Fred. I Was not to sure of them at first, but they did and excellent job. They stayed busy and next thing I know my place was empty and being loaded on the truck. I want to say that if I move again or if anyone want the name of a great moving company, call DLC MOVERS. I will let them know how outstanding, professional and how well you took care of my belongings. Thank you very much and take care. I will spread the word and thanks again for the awesome service. Much appreciated.

Recommend DLC Movers HIGHLY - Devlin and his team were awesome to work with! We had a local move that involved three locations (Pittsboro > Chapel Hill > Durham) and we had not been able to pack up all our stuff very well by move day. The guys were great at navigating "what goes/what stays" and carefully packing up things that were still unpacked. They were very helpful in placing and reassembling furniture, too. The team worked fast but I could tell they were being careful with all our belongings. So I really felt I got the value I was hoping for. I will use DLC Movers again for the next move (which hopefully I won't have to do anytime soon!).
